During the 18th SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition (2025), TÜV SÜD officially granted a four-star zero-carbon factory certification to DMEGC Solar’s Lianyungang base, based on the Zero-Carbon Factory Evaluation Standard. This recognition highlights the company’s substantial achievements in implementing its dual-carbon strategy. The certification ceremony was attended by Gao Liang, General Manager of Smart Energy Power Systems and Zero-Carbon Services at TÜV SÜD, and Chen Guang, Deputy General Manager of DMEGC Solar.
TÜV SÜD conducted a comprehensive assessment of the Lianyungang facility in accordance with the Zero-Carbon Factory Evaluation Standard (T/CECA-G 0171-2022), evaluating six key areas: infrastructure, energy and carbon intelligence management systems, energy and resource usage, product sustainability, greenhouse gas reduction measures, and carbon offsetting. The facility was confirmed to operate on 100% renewable energy during the reporting period and achieved full offsetting of residual emissions, earning it the Type I Four-Star Zero-Carbon Factory certification.
In addition, DMEGC Solar has completed carbon verification for all its production bases from 2022 to 2024. Its Sihong base was awarded TÜV SÜD’s first-ever Zero-Carbon Factory certification in the photovoltaic industry in October 2023, while the Lianyungang base received TÜV SÜD’s first ISO 14068 verification statement for the PV sector in November 2024.
Since embarking on its systematic zero-carbon transformation, DMEGC Solar has prioritized "full-chain carbon reduction," establishing a carbon management system that spans the entire photovoltaic industry chain. The company has implemented an intelligent energy management system, achieving 100% green electricity coverage for its PV module factories and reducing annual carbon emissions by over 33,000 tons. It has also adopted circular economy practices for key materials such as silicon and silver paste, achieving a 98% recycling rate for critical packaging materials. Furthermore, its photovoltaic products support low-carbon projects in more than 40 countries worldwide, setting a benchmark for zero-carbon manufacturing and application.
At the ceremony, Chen Guang, Deputy General Manager of DMEGC Solar, stated: "TÜV SÜD is a highly professional and authoritative partner in zero-carbon transformation. Receiving this certification once again demonstrates our success in integrating carbon reduction technologies across the PV industry chain and building a zero-carbon smart manufacturing system. Moving forward, we will continue to enhance low-carbon innovation and carbon asset management, and we look forward to deepening our collaboration with TÜV SÜD in areas such as international zero-carbon factory standards and digital carbon footprint tracking, contributing innovative solutions to the global PV industry’s green value chain."
